Thanks RBH!

Here is a close up of the ribbon. It's the hat in my Avatar.

I have the same type bow [but different ribbon] on my Penneys marathon.

I was wearing this beat up old Royal Stetson around the house today (it was chilly, and I got no hair).

This was restored for me by Hatman Jack's, in Wichita. They did a solid job with it... cleaning, new sweat, and new ribbon. I hated their bash when I got it back, so this is my own. The odd bump at the front of th crown is the result of a patch on the back. It was almost worn through there when I got it.

I didn't give up on this hat because of the color. I really like it.

Possibly very stupid question.

OK, I'm imagining that somewhere in the terabytes of FL data this has been discussed, but I don't have the time or patience to look up. So, here's the dumb question. Do I have to wear a straw in the spring and summer? Some of my felts aren't all that heavy or dark. Is it against some natural laws unknown to me that says Felt must stop on May 1st or something like that?

I say I bought it , I'm an adult I will wear whatever I want!:D
Seriously I wore my Peters Bros. felt last summer no problems. It's a thick but now soft western felt.

Hey Indy.. it does look good ...but i do know what you mean about that brim thing.
I guess we sometimes just gotta step out of the box on these things. Then I guess maybe not...:D

Looking forward to your new panama!.

By the way I ordered myself a new Indy straw today. But it will not be creased Indy style... you will just have to wait till after Rodeo season to see it.;)

Most of my felts are too heavy for summer wear . . . but I wore my VS Tropic-Aire . . . or "Art-Lite" . . . all the time last summer. I also have a semi-vintage (70s/80s) Borso which is lite-weight and is in my summer rotation.

No problem with felts in the summer, as long as they are light weight.
