:eek:fftopic: Hey DeanStuff, the trumpeter on the framed poster behind you on the second picture will be Miles Davis?
Ah, let's shake hands! In my kitchen, there is a poster with a picture of Miles from the fifites prominently on the wall. It has been there for more than ten years, and it still inspires me every time I look at it.

Nice hat, btw :eusa_clap

Good Eyes! Yes it is Miles Davis. I was a professional musician in my early years. Never got to play with Miles, but I did get to sit in with Count basie before he passed. I have posters of miles all over my studio basement. Thanks!

Penney's Marathon!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. This is my favorite thread. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap GREAT hats everyone. It's great to be able to place a face with a hat.

Today I'm wearing my light tan Penney's Marathon.

Great posts, lately. Some outstanding examples of hats, and all worn well by their presenters. It's a joy to see a face, other than my own, sitting beneath a nice fedora! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

That Knox IS a really neat looking hat. Purely in terms of it's outward appearance, is there a modern production hat you'd care compare it to, particularly the crown? That hat is very sharp!

I really don't know, I've only ever had used felts, and only one new straw, which I ditched after a season. Someone else could probably tell you better.
It's a big hat, wide brim, tall crown with very little taper. If you want measurements, I'd be happy to give them to you.
What really makes the look, at least for me, is the wide ribbon, long bow, and the very wide bow tie.

Portis Sterling.

Great looking hats...

Thanks RBH.
Love Alan C's Disney.
Great looking Knox Dinerman.
I like your stingy Deanstuff

Today it's the Portis Sterling. Light Gray, with a thin ribbon.
