Holy Moly! And it's close to your size. Great get!
Oddly, I find vintage 7 ⅝ hats fit me more often than modern hats of the same size. If it doesn’t fit I’ll move it on but my fingers are crossed.

Fuzzy Dobbs Two-Tone WAR Porkie. (If I posted that in some non-hat forum folks would think I was having a stroke -- that or I just came up with a great name for an album!)

Not sure what patent is pending ... or if that is just the model name.

Nice catch, Bob.
It's very similar to a two-tone Adam I have.

Because we have three examples here at the same time: I've always wondered
Super find. Always fun to see one. There is a brown homburg on Ebay right now that I think is the homburg version of the coffin box hat, even though it doesn't come in a coffin box.Another coffin box Borsalino heading my way:

Making use of Justin's time machine now, are you, Brent? What a thing! The seller said it was probably from the 1960s or ‘70s. I’m guessing a bit older.

Not sure how they are made at the factory level but custom hatters use two felts.....block both felts, cut the brim from the crown and sew the different colours together hiding the seam with the trimmings. If you can find a customer for the reverse colour scheme you don't waste a felt. Milliners (as separate from men's hatters) often cut the brims and resew them even when not swapping colours.......makes no sense but there ya go.Because we have three examples here at the same time: I've always wondered
how such two-color felts are actually made, and even here I haven't found
an answer yet (maybe I'm blind).
Could one of the highly educated gentlemen possibly enlighten me?
I’ve had the ribbon/bow off of mine and there is no visible seam, I think it’s magic, Keebler elves or such. Not sure how they are made at the factory level but custom hatters use two felts.....block both felts, cut the brim from the crown and sew the different colours together hiding the seam with the trimmings. Yes, my big question would be: how do they prevent dye bleed?I’ve had the ribbon/bow off of mine and there is no visible seam, I think it’s magic, Keebler elves or such.

How in the hell do you get a distinct line between the colours? Gotta be elves of some description.....its the only thing that makes sense.
It could be related to the Pending Patent in the hat I bought. I've not had any luck searching for that though.
Nice detective work, Bob.Here you go ... (so I'm guessing my hat is between '58 and '61 with the "pending" status).

Judging by the number of hats you're going for HAS does hold you firmly in its grip
Not my size, but I was curious ...

Wow! Like 1981 Zorro the Gay Blade movie? If it’s a couple sizes too large for you please know that I’m here to support you in your times of trial.
Jokes aside, that’s one of the best looking hats I’ve seen. Great colors and shape!
Whoa, that’s a beauty, love that color combo. I’ve seen this hat or one exactly the same before but can remember where. Not my size, but I was curious ...

Hat roulette. One pic, no size, pre-auction absentee bids (no web ability to bid live). Um … how about $7.00? Next day — winner!
