Thanks Jack. Been a member for a few months, just now joining in. Learned a lot so far. Seems like a lot of nice folks. Been wanting a 100% beaver for a long time now but always got outbid. Saw this one as a bin and just jumped on it. Really kind of excited. Even at my age. Will try to post pics when it gets here.
I'll look forward to seeing & hearing more about it!

I just picked this up as new old stock. It was wrongly listed as a bowler.

I don't know much about Melton put the price was right:

I liked the grouping, Google thought they were nutria, but what do they know. How about a Capybara felt? That would be cool...

In Brazil the meat from the Capybara is roasted & sold by street vendors. They roll it in rock salt & cook it at high heat on a grill like an habachi grill. The rock salt carmelizes into the meat. The language spoken is primarily Dutch but they manage to tell English speaking people that it is "tender loin". It's cheap & eaten primarily by the lower class.

Looks like USPS might have lost a hat pkg to me for the first time. On 12/23 it was at a local sort facility according to the tracker but has virtually vanished since then. I filed a tracer yesterday & have to give them until 1/03/18 to try to find it before a claim can be filed. Several yrs ago USPS lost a pair of expensive tooled cowboy boots & I always figured they were stolen. I live on a RR, mail service is thru a contractor & service can be terrible.

I have had a couple of Ebay packages lost in space a few years ago. I feel your pain. We live in an area that seems to be devoid of the "Porch Pirate" scourge, never have had any issues with theft, but with today's culture, I'm always wary.

I was totally unaware of the Capybara until we did a play at our local community theater in 2011. There was a line in the play that talked about Capybaras, it has been a running joke in our theater family since then. I really want a Capybara felt hat! I wonder what they taste like?

Because of cooking over such a hot fire it has a nice bark (crust) on the outside like a Ruth's Chris steak or a smoked brisket. It has a briny taste from the rock salt & they have lots of different kinds of dipping sauce.
