What hat are you waiting for today?

...that realization that the reason your new hats were delayed is that the postal service were using the box as a football.
Ahh, memories. When my first Akubra arrived back in 2008 one entire end of the carton was crushed inward about 4" like the bellows on an accordion. I had been forewarned by a number of posts made over at the Club Obi Wan forum about this sort of thing being a common occurrence at the time, so I was dismayed but not surprised. I opened it expecting the worst, but the only "damage" to the hat was that the front of the brim had been folded upwards against the front of the crown like Corporal Agarn's hat on F Troop. Fortunately the felt had been folded but not creased, and the brim returned to it's "as flanged" shape as soon as I freed the hat from it's cardboard confinement.

the hats were fine, a few dents, and a creased ribbon, all steamed out. (-:

Why do I have a heavy finger?
Pull the trigger on those 2 Stagecoach hats. One is probably a black Turkey Creek and the other have the same ribbon pattern of the Top Money but with other colors.
Now 2 weeks waiting...

Nice, I'm unfamiliar with Resistol Westerns, is the red liner a good thing? How old?
Thank you. The red liners were used from the mid fifties, though the sixties. I am not sure but they may have even lasted into the early seventies. The later ones did not have gold piping around the tip. In the sixties they went to a black sweat with the red liner. Fifties and early sixties hats had the Brown sweat. I guess I like this era of westerns because they have a little different look and the felt is very nice. Also that funky fifties looking liner just does it for me.
