What hat are you waiting for today?

Wow, hope they fit!

As deep as I went (relative to what I normally spend) I hope so too!

I think there have been a couple other "Supper Club" models on the Lounge, but these colors were unique. The colors of the Whippet are about as boring as you can get, but it is an early model -- and may be the first Whippet that I can actually wear.

Gee whizz, those colors really Pop on that Supper Club!

It is nice to see samples of models that don't often appear here on the Lounge.

A $2 shot in the dark:

Now if they will just keep shipping reasonable.

Not $2.00 shots, but not too far off.

Werner seems to go way back into the 1800s (dry goods, then hatters / furnishers). I can find them up to 1930, but then I hit a dead-end (lack of online resources after that). These hats seem newer and maybe they retained the old-style logo past 1930.

The make of the brown hat in the first photo is unknown -- as well as the sizes.

Fingers crossed. Nice proportions…larger sizes?

I'm a sucker for a good $10 hat. The Bailey may not be a $10 hat, but it is not super-modern, so may be OK. The other one was what I was after.

The Sam & Dave Gideon (father and son) store of Huntington, West Virginia goes pretty far back. It was Huntington's first clothing store starting in 1872. They sold the store (to the W. T. Grant chain) upon the elder Gideon's death in 1923.

Figured I'd add in an old French hat to go along for the ride.

Some great catches there, Bob.

Just goes to show that wonderful vintage hats are still out there to find.
