Yes, that is a very reasonable price. It's actually relatively affordable. It's $49 for the hatband change, the crown reshape is free. The cost to ship the hat back to you is $16.50.

Don’t see VVLs very often but a Westward, Twenty and VVL, well that would be a first!!A couple more $20 hats ... although only the last one was full price.

I'm quickly approaching my self imposed limit for hats, so yes, I'm trying to limit my purchases these days. If I actually counted I very well may have eclipsed the number, so as long as I don't count its not real, right? A brown western has been on my list for a while, though, so I made a play for this one. Thanks Jonathan! I'm sure you've been more selective with the "Plainsman" above. Looking forward to seeing you donning that Dobbs.
Searching around here and the Internet in general hasn't yielded too much regarding a Plainsman. I found one reference from 1952 in an ad on newspapers.com, but only the OCR text since I don't have a subscription.
Bob, you have got to put this one back to open crown!Too weird not to own ... for a while anyway.
A rare one indeed. Nice find.Latest shipping update has it now delayed a day, so the anticipation grows:

Waiting on my Bluegrass Campdraft to get here ( EU ).
Not sure about the wide brim at 2-7/8 though.
I might have to have it cut down a bit.
A spiral stitch brim on that Borsalino. Nice!Hopeful, but not all my size.

Well a happy ending for my Canadian auction win of the navy blue Stetson Homburg. They would not give me a price for shipping til I paid for the auction and that engaged my 'oh durn' radar. When I said I was not paying until they put me in contact with the shipper. Shipper would not give me a firm price either only a range. I called BS as you can easily get a firm price from Canada Post with their online calculator. She finally came back with a price of $35 for postage and handling which is fair. $25 postage, $10 for addressing the box. Heck half the fun is negotiating but I doubt I get a Christmas card from them. Pics when I receive it.
This is never a good sign:Latest shipping update has it now delayed a day, so the anticipation grows:

I am hoping it is at least a bit blue to the naked eye. We'll have to compare notes. My blue Stetson homburg is so deep I can't tell it is blue in anything less than direct sunlight.
