We always used Everclear. It was usually a mistake.

During the day, we had to cross the state line to buy everclear. So many times I wish I hadn't crossed that boundary.

Their selection is limited but I know a place that serves the coldest beer in the coldest frosty mug I have ever found. So after a hot day I settled for 3 Bud Lights & some pizza for dinner last night.

While bbq'ing the steaks, a Rolling Rock. While watching Revenge of the Sith with youngest Shellhammer, a Manhattan with Old Forrester.

Currently, (after mowing the backyard because it made feel happier even though it has only been a few days since last mowed) downing a few Angry Orchards (which are resting in a bucket of ice up to the top of their necks) while enjoying some Jackpot (music) on the deck. Life is very good.

Earlier this wk at a little bar & grill my choices for Scotch to drink were blended only, & as long as you liked JW Black, Red or Cutty Sark you were in good shape there. The bartender dug around & found an unopened bottle of Cutty Sark Prohibition. So I tried it. It did have some peat smoke but otherwise I couldn't tell what might have gone into the blend. With no age statement & bottled at 50% ABV it was a bit rough & needed a cube or two to tame it down some. I haven't drank any Cutty since I was a kid.

Last night at a better establishment from my choices for an after dinner Scotch I chose a couple of drams of Balvenie 14 Caribbean Cask. Thick & oily the finishing taste from the Caribbean rum was pleasant as an aperitif. I will probably enjoy it again sometime as an aperitif while dining out but I really like the Doublewood series in 12 & 15 at home.

There is a very good reason I have not had Cutty Sark in 30 years and I plan to keep it that way.
