Ginger Snap's!

My wife likes it with ginger ale. It seems like it would be too much ginger ginger but if you like ginger......:p

I am thinking of what to add to invent a few new Canton mixed drinks. :p

Last night was Glendronach. A few of them. Sore throat medicine. :p

Yes one would think so, but does not seem to.

Here are a couple of things I've tried:

Ginger-peach sangria:
Slice up some peaches, mix some ginger liqueur with white wine and peach schnapps and a spritz of seltzer.

The Fred and Ginger :
1/2 oz Woodford Reserve bourbon
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz Domaine de Canton
1/2 oz simple syrup
1/4 oz (12 – 14 dashes) Angostura bitters (I prefer 8 to 10)

Irish Applesauce:
1 1/2 part(s) Jameson Irish Whiskey
1/2 part(s) Hiram Walker Caramel Apple Liqueur
1/2 part(s) Canton Ginger Liqueur
1 squirt(s) Lemon Juice

played around with a few martinis, gin based - not vodka types, as a added secret flavor ingredient, not yet as a main.

The apple sauce sounds interesting.

Hi Everybody

I was looking through old files and found one labeled Rye Recipes. I HATE vermouth, so I made this one:

The Suburban

3 oz rye whiskey
1 oz port wine
1 0z dark rum
3 dashes orange bitters
3 dashes Angostura bitters

Pour the ingredients into a shaker, add ice, and shake vigorously. Pour into a martini glass.

I made a double and put it in the refrigerator in a closed container. It's a mildly painful experience, but tastes odd to say the least. On the bright side, I used up all of my Crap Jefferson's Rye. And to think I used to look up to ole Thomas Jefferson.

It may be a week or so before I finish that sucker.

I think I would have left out the port wine and the orange bitters. Both seem kind of redundant with the other ingredients. You already have your sweet, strong and sour. No need to overpower it. :p
