Last night I had started with a Carlos Toranos Signature but it was so nasty I was going to chuckit. I eneded up trading with the wife who had a La Vieja Habana. She also did not care for the Toranos. I had tried a Vieja a couple of months ago but did not care for it. This one was much better but I will try a 3rd before judging it, I will not try another Toranos.

Today at the beach I had a Rocky Patel old world reserve my Brother in Law bought me. It was pretty good but hard to get lit and burn even with the beach wind going.:D

What was so nasty about the Torano ??
Taste, burn, draw ????
Disappointing to hear cause Torano's are usually very well made and extremely tasty !!

I had an unusually hard time getting it lit, the draw was not so bad. It was hot and bitter with no flavor other than a stale bitterness. Maybe it was just that one one but it turned me off so much I doubt I will try that one again.

I picked up 2 Bolivars the other day that had plume on them, I had never actually seen that before!:D

Plume is fine. Just dust them off before you smoke them. ;) The cigar mold is another thing though.
I had a Bolivar that has been in my humidor for quite some time last night. It had the old big crest band and not the usual portrait band. It was an ok cigar but it had a bad draw for a while and that affected the experience. It hung an ash about 2 1/2" though. Some spots ont he wrapper were cracked but after at least three years of being in the bottom of my humidor, things like that happen. [huh]
The real star was the 1926 I had night before. The band stated 04/05. I didn't realize it was in there that long! :eusa_doh: Whatever the case, that box pressed beauty preformed really well for me. The draw was a bit firm but it delivered on taste. Not particularly strong but flavorful. :D

Uh, box code would be if it was one of the Bolivars from that little exotic island. ;) :D
I am glad I gave you a good go to brand other than.......;) :p
I still like to try others but do have my favorite! The Montecristo Platinum and Bolivar have been very good though.:D

CI deal

If you like tasty medium body cigars, Cigars Interntional has a
killer deal for "father's day". $29.99 for 20 El Mejor Emerald.
I have been enjoying these for a while now. I think they're
worth a whole lot more- better than most smokes I get for $5 and up.
I guess they need some publicity.

http://www.cigarsinternational.com/specials-weekly

As usual, deal ends when supplies run out. If you read this a week or
more after I post it, my apologies.

Enjoy.

Ps: I have no affiliation with CI. I usually ignore their junk mail, but try
to jump on the good deals when they appear and share 'em with Loungers.
