What cigar (or pipe) did you smoke today?

La Traviata Intrepido this evening. Big cigar and a long smoke. Then for last call a Perdomo Habano corojo with Oban. Nice.

Ashton VSG Tres Mystique with Oban tonight. You need to revisit Oban, James. It's becoming one of my favorites.

Oban is pretty good but Lagavulin is the cognac of Scotch. :p To tell the truth, I have an unopened bottle of Oban as I replaced it after I finished it but just haven't gotten around to opening the new one. :p
Last night was tasting night---mostly Irish and Scotch. :p I had a Juan Lopez Selecion 2. The Knappogue Irsh whiskey was good. The Tomatin Spanish Cask was good as well. Finished it out with a Redbreast. :D It certainly got rid of my sore back. :p

I normally drink small batch bourbon or Irish (Slane Castle, small batch variety). When I do drink scotch, it's always Oban. I thought Lagavulin what was left over after they dug the peat for the fireplace! By the way, my wife and I shared a Cuban Trinidad (in the humidor since their release by Castro) last night.

Cohiba Siglo No 5. Not bad, but I think this was my last attempt to become friends with Habana cigars. They are just to strong for me. I'll better stick with cigars from the Dominican Republic...

Lagavulin is an acquired taste. You just can't try to drink it as your first Scotch that is for sure. it is at the end of a long line of acquiring tastes. :p Now certain types of Laphroig......:eusa_doh:

Padron serie 1926 number 2 and a glass of Chancella Aguardente de Vinho Vehla; not for the faint of heart.

I have a Savinelli 626 (sounds more like an Italian sports car than a pipe, lol!) that I enjoy occasionally with some of the custom blends I buy from my tobacconist. I've yet to buy off the shelf pipe tobacco. As for cigars, I'd have to say my favorites to date are the Romeo y Julieta LOT 95 Series B, and the Rocky Patel "Edge" Battalion Corojo. Both are very well priced at around the 8-10 dollar range, depending on where you go, and are amazingly good smokes for the price. Macanudo's 1968 and Duke of York Cafe are also very good; worth a try if you haven't had one before.

Frog Morton on the Bayou in a Barling meerschaum. Had the tin packed away for nine years. Pretty smooth.
