I don't know if you think you're being funny, or if you're straight up being a judgemental arse, but as a tattooed person myself I'm going to kindly ask you to take your bigotry and shove it.
Pretty sure it was purely tongue in cheek. @Will Zach seems like a cool dude to me:)
Easy to get misunderstood in text.

Edit: Oh and I also have tattoos. Ugly ones as well!

If your face looks like that dude's I am not selling to you, and I am surprised that the Vancouver shop did. Look too much like gang tats, even though technically they might not be. Dude might just be a wannabe gangbanger, doing petty crime instead.

Looks like a street gang member. I am surprised they sold 3 grand worth of goods to him.
Pretty weird thing to say ngl
Famous last words...

Doubling down on this take is also weird

True, but this is much more likely:

Anybody is free to sell to random dudes like these, I won't if I can help it. And it is not my obligation to figure out if dude's face tats are prison/gang tats, or just a unique sense of style.

On another note, I am wondering, since this seems to be scammers MO, and he's been identified, whether this is wire fraud or mail fraud, both federal offenses worth reporting to the FBI.

Any theft over $5000 is a very serious in Canada and can be punishable by prison terms up to 10 years.

However, this is cross border theft and things gets a lot trickier. And the thief exploited this weak point.

Any Canadian small business with American customer could look into setting up a company in the US, the cost is small compared to the business protection you will get.

I hate thieves but they are on the rise. If the deal sounds too good to be true they usually are.

Whoaaa guys. Back to bashing scammer not each other. I’m 63 and have several skull tats( representing close deaths in my family). I guess I’d better shut up( I also have a neck tat. Live and learn. Everybody says awe hell I got those when I was 18 young and stupid. I’ve got my first one at 50 years old also when I got my first cell phone. I got to admit those face tats give me the heebie jeebies. Power to da people

Dude looks like he would fit in with a certain segment in Huntington Beach... and I'm not talking about street gangs. It's the SE Hinton fan club, obviously. But seriously, this guy looks like he's been tweaking for many a moon.

Aww, swing and a miss. I thought for sure you were going to invoke the name of Kevin Michael "GG" Allin:

GG there was an American punk rock "musician". Known more for his on-stage antics than his music, GG died of a heroin overdose two months short of his 37th birthday.

agree that we should focus on preventing scamming rather than discussing tattoos! How does a scammer even get into John Lofgren boots??? I've been checking Ebay and Grailed to see if they get put up for sale but haven't come across them yet, suggesting that he's keeping them or reselling them somewhere else. If somebody comes across the brand new Devil's Causeway Lofgren engineers in 9.5D, can you let me know? I'll supply that information to PayPal etc. and also The Shop Vancouver.

Ugh the bank actually sided with the scammer! I sent everything they wanted--photos, receipts, etc. Don't know how they could do this. Also doesn't seem like I have any recourse. Looks like I'm out $975 due to this guy. Unbelievable. If anybody knows how else to dispute a bank chargeback please let me know. This is the only time I've ever been burned with an online transaction but it's really painful.

Damn brother. Absolutely hate to hear that. Hopefully it doesn't discourage you from transacting on the forum, maybe just need to make sure it's PPF&F if you're selling and somebody reputable if you're buying.

Either way hate to hear it.

My sympathies. This is what small businesses deal with all the time. Banks almost always side with the consumer. The whole credit card infrastructure is cobbled together from outdated rules/norms. Part of the reason I'm winding down my own business... I'm so looking forward to it!

Yo Dawgs,
Thought I would chime in since I saw you all had shared this and this morning Charles reached out to me who was also scammed by Michael.

Michael seems to be a real piece of work.

I saw a link above to a cat that was a murderer or some shit .. Thats not him.
The guy with the face tattoos, that is him.

I could go total deep dive here, but Ill save you all that...
Bottom line is Michael likes to claim he's not a thief... however his actions and lack of action say otherwise.

I had a ton of people reach out that know him from his gym owning days in Huntington Beach.
All saying that this guy is a total piece of shit human.

Buy and sell to this guy at your own risk.
Typically people that are above the board and stand up folk,
don't have threads about them with receipts about how they've been ripped off.

Cats lame .
be safe yall
