What cigar (or pipe) did you smoke today?

Hi, I tried a couple of Montesino Natural wrapper cigars last month, and bought 4 more. They are a decent regular cigar. I bought one of their Manduro cigars too. I don't like the Manduro cigars of any brand as well as the Natural Wrapper ones.

I had a Cain Maduro something or the other. Picked it up while doing market research/recon today. Not great, but certainly not bad for the $$

I've found that age treats the Cain maduros very well. I would suggest putting a few of them back for six months or so. Seems to age a lot of the harshness out of them.

+1 to the Cain, great smoke for the price.
I smoked a Gurkha SE Maduro Corona with a 1.75 of Duvel for lunch, I fear I'm turning into Charlie Sheen.

+1 on the Cain maduro. I bought two last March and smoked one. I thought that one was pretty harsh. The second sat in my humidor until September when I decided to give it another try. I was surprised and pleased at the results of six months humidor time. Now I have a box aging and getting ready to enjoy.

I thought you all might enjoy seeing these now that I've taken a couple of pictures. They were both made to my specifications by Staebell and Associates in Richardson, TX. Bob Staebell was recommended to me by Mr. Paladin about a year ago when I bought my first humidor from him. I filled it fairly quickly and soon found that I needed more humidor space, hence the second larger one. More info here http://www.aristocrathumidors.com I can't recommend Mr. Staebell and his staff highly enough. The cabinets are beautiful, very functional and extremely easy to maintain. The humidication systems are called, "set and forget" and they are exactly that. Just add water now and then.

I am doing good to keep one of my two humis stocked but someday I hope to have a well established collection.

Gee, that puts my converted antique chest of drawers to shame. :eusa_doh::D:p

A La Traviata tonight with a taste or three of Aberlour A'bunadh. The maduros are better, but this one was still a nice cigar.

Abelour sounds interesting.

Give it a go if you get the chance. Cask strength, fruity and mellow. I like it for a change of pace from the peatiness and earthiness of Laghroaig.

I'm going to pick up a bottle of Lagavulin on my next shopping trip.

Perhaps I will give it a try.
For Lagavulin, I went to Costco yesterday and they had a pretty good deal on a few different Scotches. Lagavulin being one. I walked away with a Lagavulin, Oban and Glenmorangie for a decent price. The Glenmorangie was a 1.75 for less than I paid for a 1/5th! It comes in a glass bottle that looks like a huge version of the 1/5th. I still had some of the 1/5th but the big one makes a nice display bottle.
The Glenmorangie goes well with a La Traviata. I was removing some (empty) boxes from my humidor and found one La Traviata Divino left in the box. The end just about exploded when I cut it but the cigar smoked fine and had a much better flavor with age. They benefit from about three or four months of rest from my experience. [huh]
