Heading out in a Sterkowski Hamburg. I’m surprised we don’t see more Sterkowskis here. They are well made and reasonably priced.
I chose this model as I have no other fisherman style caps and it seemed a bit unique among them.

back then hats were much more utilitarian items of clothing - I suspect those of us who amass significant collections nowadays would be seen as rather odd in that regard.
Definitely odd, if not unknown. I was watching a Humphrey Bogart crime/comedy where Bogie was going straight, getting out of the rackets, and his "boys" were all complaining; Bogie tells 'em they're all set up they don't need to be racketeers anymore. "You've got a horse farm up in Westchester," he says to one guy, and another, "How many hats you got?"

Eric @Short Balding Guy and others have been encouraging me to expand my comfort zone to include patterns.

This just arrived via Etsy. Lightweight wool cap. It's View attachment 473854 View attachment 473855 definitely outside of my normal selection. Time will tell how much head time it gets.

Cheers on the new cap. I will be curious to see how the patterned and colored caps work for you. The patterns and colors can brighten the day or adventure. I hope you are staying warm. Cheers, Eric -
