Short lived 80's TV show, set in the 50's Private Eye.

From the mid 70's, Banacek

The original theme for Magnum PI only used in the first 5 episodes.

Starsky and Hutch had a new theme every season, but the first one was the best.

The Scarecrow and Mrs. King.

John Barry was a god! Listening to a load of his Bond stuff at the moment

Going back to my pick of The Rockford Files , I'm pretty sure that Mike Post wrote the Magnum music as well as this?

The ones that come immediately to mind are The Monkees, Baretta, first season of Starsky & Hutch, the second and more famous version of I Dream of Jeannie, the 1940's Looney Tunes theme, the Tom & Jerry theme, and the Ren & Stimpy theme.

Even though we've seen many of these old TV shows countless times, we often forget that they had some great music.

Yep Mike Post and Pete Carpenter wrote the second theme for Magnum, the one everybody knows, but not the first theme. Of those I listed, they also wrote The Greatest American Hero.

Here's a stirring one, the opening theme and recurring theme from the Sharpe films "O'er the Hills and Far Away". John Tams, who helped compose the theme (not the traditional Hills and Far Away) and scored the films is also Rifleman Hagman in the series:

Down To Earth. A sitcom about a woman who was killed by a trolly (golly!) in 1925 who comes back to live in the 1980s. Good 20s-type theme song!!

In no particular order:

Star Trek

Combat!

Jeeves and Wooster

Mission: Impossible

The Addams Family

The Twilight Zone

Hawaii Five-0

And many more I can't think of at the moment! :D

Oh, and thanks for that link!

Cheers,
Tom

It's just a great show! Yes, I always loved that car. I wish I could afford the gas one of those things must use...

Jings, aye.... I'd be rich if I could afford that. Course, fuel consumption of most US cars of that era can be measured in feet to the gallon.
