Northeast Wisconsin's best weather so far in 2008 -- sunny, 60s, light breeze, lovely. Ran all my Saturday errands, now listening to my minor league Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on the road (Quad Cities) on the Internet while I type this. Chris Mehring, the Rattlers radio announcer, is a great guy, friend of mine, and writes the best baseball blog that I've seen: check it out if you're a fan.

:eek:fftopic: I worked retail 10 years, and in one location, I worked with the biggest do-nothing snobs in the lowest quality chain retail store. I repeatedly hit 10x my quota. And I gave the other girls my customer sales to boot. But whenever a "not fancy" customer walked in the door, they would ignore that person unless directly confronted. :rage:

One day a woman came in and was very badly dressed, and very quiet. I asked her what she was looking for, and she responded "anything on sale; preferably the lowest price possible". It turned out she liked to purchase in quantity for a woman's shelter and donate gifts of clothing anonymously. She started buying from me in mass quantity, and before I quit, she was buying up to $500/week in marked down items! She was loaded; just was extraordinarily generous and liked to buy for others. It never hurts to treat people with respect....

Went to an charity benefit in Boise:

Tallia UomoTuxedo, Shirt from Hackett of London, Allen Edmonds Ritz pumps in black suede cord. Watch is LeCoultre circa 1955.

We don't many balck tie chances here in Boise... so one must take advantage!

Wow! Those shoes are great!!! Looking very dapper kschurch :)

Thanks Dolly!

We don't get many opportunities for black tie around here so it's a nice treat when something comes along.

Cheers,

Church

Thank you Dolly! My saddle shoes came from payless shoes. They are complete CRAP( but then what should you expect for 19.99!) !lol They have sooooo... much caked shoe polish on them its not even funny. I love that dress, its made out of cotton flannel and has red velvet collar and cuffs.

Another lovely day in Northeast Wisconsin, although that does mean an early start to the familiar sartorial sins of summer. I was reminded, for example, as if I needed the reminder, that 55-year-olds do not look good in flip-flops, especially away from the beach. :)

All I can do is lead by example:

Bill Kaiserman rough-textured SB 3B ventless brown sportcoat with tan and black windowpanes, 85% baby alpaca/10% silk/5% nylon
JAB British tan cuffed wool trousers (borrowed from suit; they go with this sportcoat well)
Marshall Field's light blue button-down, open neck, crisp white tee underneath
Cream cotton pocket square, points up
Burgundy leather dress belt with silver buckle (I meant to grab the medium brown belt, but what the heck)
Lorus watch with tan band (right wrist)
Polished stainless steel link bracelet (left wrist)
Dark tan patterned OTC socks
Bass medium brown tassel loafers with woven leather vamps
Vintage 1980s Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses

They're cheaper at muffys.com!
I love that you know Muffy's! She used to be just up the road from where I grew up (before moving a few more miles up the road a few years back).

Anyway, I haven't any pictures, but I know they're out there on at least four cameras!

Today I finally got my Longines back (it was out of commission for several months waiting for a new crystal), and I just had to wear it. That dictates black shoes, so from the top down:
Steel grey 'Trackside' fedora by Art, sporting a burgundy band
Navy two-piece 2x4 DB by Society Brand with the coolest weave pattern ever
Brandless braces, also burgundy
Off-white French cuff shirt, MTM courtesy of John Helmer
The neatest cufflinks: little Japanese fans done up in some sort of enamel-stuff which I'm sure has a proper name
Vintage plum-coloured tie in acetate with these red-on-bone amoeba-y things
Socks to match the suit
And to finish it off, a pair of Allen-Edmonds Broadstreets in black and white

I was feeling very Vivienne Westwood today at work. I wore this with my Edwardian jacket, of course.

Hat -- vintage, antique co-op.
Top -- a gift, from a German lingerie shop.
Bustle -- Andrea Odicini, Buffalo Exchange (!!!).
Capris -- belonged to my mother.
Shoes -- Kung Fu shop. They now have holes worn over my big toes, but I refuse to buy another pair, since they're made in China. I think I need some TOMS.

Sorry :eek:fftopic:

Saddleshoe advice:
If you know anyone who has teenagers in Private School they should be able to point you in the right direction. I see alot of teenage girls in them, especially in green and white. They wear much larger sizes then even myself.

GREEN AND WHITE?!?!?!?! oooooh!

mine are Willits brand. they're school shoes, but are exactly like old ones. the payless shoes look pretty inauthentic, in my snobby-arse opinion ;)
