Another view of me today, this time seated with a good view of my bamboo walking stick (silver band) and Allen Edmonds cordovan wingtip brogues.

Although retired, I still help out at work as and when they have a panic on, like this morning's phone call: "Help!" I was there throughout the very busy morning, about five hours, I had all but forgotten that there are two six o'clocks every day. But there I was, in the dark winter morning, downing my coffee fix.

Later, back home, I'm cooking a pasta meal this evening and we seem to be out of parmesan. I'm back in the car and off to the supermarket. The compliments for my John B. head wear, one of the staff joked and said that she thought that all hats were worn backwards, a remark about the peaked cap that really does seem to be worn as such.

What am I wearing? A Stetson Sovereign tops out a made to measure blazer, shirt and trousers courtesy of Tina, my wife. Shoes are also bespoke, made by the very talented Colin Johnson.

This blazer was bought from a trader at a festival. The hemline, pockets and lapels all looked very shabby but the jacket itself looked almost unworn. Tina assessed that it was probably made to measure by an inexperienced tailor. The price was a steal and two days in the lady's cabin, where she unpicked all the untidy finishes, trimmed and aligned the pockets and lapels and it was good to go.

She made the shirt and trousers to compliment it, the Gamble & Gunn bespoke hat was already in my wardrobe and the shoes are yet another fine pair from that talented cordwainer, Colin Johnson.
