I can't tell you How much that South Pacific design evokes my earliest memories. I was born in 1951 and my dad had served in the Pacific during the war. Everything in our G.I. Loan-financed house reflected the theme: I even have a photo of my mom in a bathing suit and a grass skirt doing the hula, a photo that was meant to deter the old man from those native girls in Honolulu.

I am enjoying the mix of brown and black there. Do your trouser's seams line up? I once had a pair of WPG trousers where the side seams were out of alignment so they were annoying to press. Hoping it was a one off.

No problem at all so far!

And yes, I never had any issue mixing brown and black, as long as the belt is matching the shoes, and that there's more brown than black. But yeah, I know some people are dead against it, never understood why!

With everything still in semi-lockdown, we decided six weeks ago we didn't want to wait up to two years before we could have the wedding we wanted, so we went ahead and hasd our own private ceremony yesterdaty afternoon. Just us, our minister, two witnesses (the minister's husband and our church office manager)... and the dog. Bit of cake afterwars (baked by the now wife) and a glass of rose lemonade. We'll do something more to celebreate in a year or two when that's an option, but now we feel we can get on with our lives instead of being on hold!

The bride - as was her long time wish - wore black. Groom's outfit based on something Elvis wore circa 56 Groom's physique, alas, more Elvis circa 76... (sadly not the shoes I wanted, but Covid-19 made it impossible to pick those up from storage). It has become a running joke that we did it for less than the married persons' tax rebate will be for me this year!
