I have a photo of him wearing that same tie that is dated on the back "May, 1965." I have a number of his old ties from the late 1950s through the late 1970s. My Dad was a teacher at Oak Hill School from 1949 to 1979, and was the Principal of the school from 1952 to 1979. It is fun to go back through all the old school year books and see what tie that I may still have in the photo from any given year.

My Dad always liked a good tie. He said that when the narrow ties came in to fashion in the 1960s, he got rid of his wide ties from the 1940s and 1950s. as the wider ties came back in fashion in the 1970s, he decided to hold on to the narrow ties because he said that one day they would be back and he didn't want to make the mistake he'd made with his wide ties.

I now have three boxes of very nice narrow ties, most of which look almost brand new. Dad packed them away in 1974 (as that was the date he wrote on the boxes).

Nice! My father left me a bunch of 70s ties. He was always stealing mine when he wore one anyway. lol lol lol I laugh at old pictures because I see my ties. :p

Yesterday, I wore this shirt for the first half of the day. The shirt is made by a company called Cova.

The second half of yesterday, I wore this shirt, with a Dominique France tie I got at the thrift store. It is 53" long, and 3 1/2" wide.

30's Palm Beach suit today, from the Boardwalk Empire wardrobe sell-off. Tie is deadstock 30's as well. Spearpoint collar shirt is from luxire. Hat-tip to HBK for giving me the idea of having a shirt done in micro-gingham.

A flawless outfit Patrick. Really superb. I particularly like the cut of the coat - I'd say it's the ideal DB style.
