Today decided on the Chester lee Harris Tweed jacket, wool vest vintage plaid shirt , Harris Tweed 8 panel cap, and thick heavy cords. Rounded off with argyle socks and heavy duty vintage Loake brogues, just nice and comfortable for our winter. View attachment 1832

Love me some Harris tweed! One of my favorite parts about the coming of winter is breaking out the tweed.

Though there is Alton Towers, a theme park which was built around the ruins of an actual manor house built in 1801. :p

Yes, we do have theme parks, of course... I just meant, we don't need Disney (*yucky*) to recreate ancient haunted houses, as we have plenty of real ones, if you believe in ghosts that is... ;)

Yes getting the tweed back out again, is something I look forward to as well, the old Harris tweed always amazes me, you can still get great quality jackets at dirt cheap prices, the one you see me wearing there, was a whopping 8 bucks, and its built like a tank, awesome quality.

I know tweed has never really gone out of fashion, but may be most are reluctant to wear it today, that's why its plentiful And cheap.

Frank, you are one dapper fella! Great to see you posting again!

Here is a photo (a very unflattering one at that) of what I wore today. Newly aquired 1940s/50s Nylon shirt, and pre-20's beaver fedora. Kind of a contradictory outfit, but hey, I wanted to wear the hat, regardless of the heat! I am not used to see through shirts (I have two others, a grey short sleeve, and a white long sleeve that came with the yellow) but they are perfect in this 100+ degree heat!

I think he just hasn't put his shoes on yet. Probably to avoid being yelled at by the SO for wearing shoes in the house. ;-)
Yep, you got it right! I never wear shoes in the house, probably should have cropped that bit out. :)

Thanks for the compliments gents!

I love getting style inspiration from this thread, some great looking outfits being posted lately.
