As I was leaving our local co-op, a lovely older woman edged her way over to me. She started, 'your hat...,' but paused. I replied, 'yes' to urge her to continue. She then explained that her dad had a black Stetson, and she was wondering if she could wear it. I enthusiastically replied, 'of course,' and asked if it fit. She said it did and well. I told her that the felt wears well for warmth, shade and helps in the rain. Told her I had received two recently since my 6 3/4 head can find vintage hats at great prices. I was wearing my olive Long, by Adam with its burnt sienna grosgrain band. She asked the color of my other hat, I mentioned brown with a burgundy band, which happened to be a Knox. As we walked through the parking lot, she paused at her car and smiled. Thanked me. I told her I looked forward to seeing her in her father's Stetson.

Seems all she needed was permission. I do hope I run into her again in our small town, that is becoming a mecca of vintage hat wearers!

You may have seen pictures of the horrid packaging of the two fedora, but here's a couple pics prior their creasing:

Many thanks!
The expression on her face in that last pic really makes it, at least for me. :D

A few more from the second half of the session.

Will, your pictures are very very good. Your gal looks beautiful and you know it. Nice clothes too ;)

Crazy Daisy! Hooray for knitwear! I like it!

Miss Tuppence: Perfect 30s style as usual. You never disappoint us :eusa_clap

Mario: The jacket doesn't look 70s at all. But I noticed something else: You wear a bold 40s tie! I thought you were the solid tie guy!

Ok, I believe that by now you are heading towards the knit-tolerance-limit (I am not, but then I'm an addict) - so I'll quickly show you the last one before I disappear to look up more yarns ;)
3 piece ensemble , of which 2 shown, of mid 30's inspiration. The piece missing is a short sleeve sporty blouse.

I have to say I am very happy with this and very grateful for my mother's hard and wonderful work which is now bearing the right sort of fruit.

What a beautiful ensemble—it is just so elegant...!

I understand perfectly well that you can't remember how to tie that knot again.
Matrix guys, on the other hand, who live more or less in a world turned inside out, can course also any time re-turn the inside out on a tie...:D

I love this story!!!

I hope to see this woman sporting her father's Stetson around town too, and I'm very excited that your example could encourage her to do so!
