the Queen and her corgi have morning tea...

Vintage 1930s peach colored silk nightgown.
I am pictured with Gwinnie, our 2 year old tri-color Welsh Pembroke corgi.
I'm in one of the two parlors of a deco friend's jewel box of a historic home in SF,
all decorated in Federal and Regency era antiques.

Worn last night out to a vintage themed dinner:
an awesome find: vintage 1940s black crepe dress with hand appliqued print fabric piece on bodice, halo buttons down back to the waist, pleated at hip from the waist on one side. Fits like a dream! Worn with 40s pattern crocheted ivory snood made by an FL member for me, vintage 40s flowered tilt hat from evilBay that perfectly matches the print fabric on the dress, vintage 40s shoes, gloves, AO eyeglasses, and two tone rose earrings. New pieces are pearl necklace (shortened up to be era appropriate) Miriam Haskell costume pearl cuff.

Pretending to be the heiress that lives in this antique filled house in SF!
Seated by the front bay window at my tea table:

not the best pic of my face unfortunately,
as my head was tilted too high
making for the bad reflection in my vintage 40s eyeglasses-bummer!
but it shows the fit and detail of the dress well:

arriving at vintage themed dinner in Pt. Richmond

Last night: Here is the family posed in front our our deco friend's terrific 1934 Citroen, who drove us from his house in SF in his car. Three of us in vintage 40s clothes, shoes and hats: husband in WWII Army Captain's summer uniform, daughter in rayon print dress with matching wool full veil hat, my dress is rayon crepe with matching tilt hat. Son wearing custom made 1930s style linen trousers with new RL cricket sweater, outfit worn to the ADSC 2009 Gatsby picnic.

our children (daughter is almost 16, son is almost 14) pictured with the owner of the car, Tony- looking "spot on" fabulous wearing his vintage WWII RAF uniform

Dressed very casual today, being home from school usually has that effect.

my St. Regis special,
Levi 501s
Jacket from Fitzgerald's casino in Vegas

My eyes look a bit wonky in the photo, but oh well.

Thank You Shangas! This deco friend of ours Tony has like maybe three dozen uniforms from all branches of the service going back to the Spanish-American war. He is quite the inspiration to us all! He just gave a WWII era Civil Air Defense CADET uniform he had bought but was too small for him, to our almost 14yo son Daniel. Fits him near perfect! Daniel will be wearing it to the Memorial Day celebration at the Presidio in SF, again standing in front of the podium alongside the other men and women in their vintage uniforms from our BAWMHRS group.

C/Carey, as ever, your family is fabulously stylish. Those army & RAF uniforms look awesome!

I was a model for local portrait class today (seven lovely ladies staring at me for hours.... ). There'll be three more sessions to model for. I brought about 25 ties, six hats, three outfits and we took some time to pick out what they wanted. I'm not wearing nice shoes in this shot. Nice shoes will be for next session......:)

Very smart, Quigley!

I went into town today to do some window-shopping and decided I had to look half-decent, so...

The shirt is new (to me). A 'Country Road' one with French cuffs. My brother left me a pair of cufflinks before he battered off to London, so I put them on before going out...

The fountain pens in my waistcoat pocket are a Conway-Stewart 58 lever-filler (centermost) and a 1946 Parker Duofold 'NS' button-filler (outermost).
