Hey Frank, not sure why anyone would be "bashing you around" in my opinion your posts are always must read/view.... I'm a big fan of your style and you always look great! Keep doing what you do!

Thank you very much for your kind words, and appreciate that you like reading my post , I'm flattered to say the least.

In reality it was just one person and you know what they say " if you can't please everyone ,you have to at least please
yourself ".
I actually really like this Forum because everyone does get along on this forum and its very welcoming here .

I was once an administer on a men's clothing forum , and I myself had to "ban" people for a week , for a month ,etc etc
and I hated the turmoil of it and got sick of it .

Hey feel free to add me to your friend list ,after all isn't that what it's all about here .
Thanks again for your internet friendship !

Nice Glengarry, Frank! What's the tartan? My military regiment is a highland regiment, so I can certainly appreciate your uniform.

Hello Ottawa Adam , Thanks for the complement on the garry , if you notice we pride ourself's on having a black pom in the garry instead of the regular red one you might always see.

I am the quartermaster for my band and I have to make sure that everyone is squared away .
we are up to 32 members and it gets hairy at a performance when someone forgets their garry or tie or flashes ,I have to keep a box in the van with extras just to be covered.

The tartan is MacPherson it was bought in Canada in the late 1940's when the band formed and we are still wearing it to
this day.

I see you are from Ottawa , last year the band played at Maxvillie Ont. and in Montreal the next day.

Canada is awesome , the rolling countryside we went thru was beautiful.

I also have been to Nova Scotia three times ,up to the highlands to bagpiping college and thru Monkton N.B. on the way
there.

Thanks for the nice complement , I have been getting bashed around here lately , so it's nice to hear something positive.

The band has been around since right after WW II . Check it out www.rihighlanders.org All the Best, Fashion Frank
I am surprised any one here has bashed you, your sense of style is impeccable. I notice a 4th place in Montreal, thats certainly nothing to sneeze at, very stiff competition I am sure. As some of you know, we have our Emma Crawford Coffin Races around here every year. I am trying to get our motorcycle club to enter, we would wear kilts, in Triumph Tartan of course, with motorcycle boots. I am almost up to a full team brave enough to show their knobby knees! Keep up the good work Frank.

Well, that's not good to hear. I'm sorry that people are treating you like that. I, for one, always enjoy your posts. Don't let them get to ya, Frank.

It was only one person and perhaps they were just having a bad day, anyway as they say " that was only yesterday ",
so I care not to think about it anymore , but thank you for your kind word's , coming from a long time member like
yourself that means alot to me , and I always enjoy your posts as well !

Wow you took the time to check out the band's website ,cheer's !

You are certainly correct , in Canada when we go up against another band they are already at an advantage because
they TRAIN ,
we "screw around " and our pipe Major is the best we would not have placed so high in Canada without her!

You made me think of " Monty Python's Flying Circus " with the kilts on bikes ,that is too much , and you have guy's lined up awesome .
thanks for the kind words and look forward to talking again.

In honour of Frank, here's a picture of me in my highland mess kit. Although taken a little while ago, I thought I would share.

I wore a kilt as drum major in high school. After graduation I would wear it to parades, field shows, highland games. Then I put on a whole lotta weight and now I can't even get it partly around the waist.

NB: Colleen McCullough in The Thorn Birds makes the statement that a man in a kilt is breathtaking.

Bought this recently but first time posting it.
Colombian cashmere tailored in Italy.
Tag was marked $6 but the lady said coats were half off.
Sorry so small. Looks like it's fresh off the rack.

As they say in the Old Country, tomorrow, Sunday, the 10th of February, is Zhongguo Xinnian.

Chinese New Year.

The family has been invited out for dinner and I intend to wear red. So we have my dark red waistcoat with red silk backing...

...and two red ties (I haven't figured out which one will go better with the waistcoat yet).

Then for the jewellery we have a gold dragon pinkie-ring, gold abacus cufflinks, my double albert watch-chain with a Chinese coin fob :)
