This one is already a few weeks old, but I totally forgot about it. The dress is supposed to be from the 40's and I don't remember if the shoes were supposed to be 20's or 30's. Sproily on the right can probably tell since I got them from him, they fit perfectly and are probably the most comfortable pair of heels I've ever had :)

On the move again...
I swear, Sproily find some of the most fantastic stuff out there. I'm in a veritable Mojave desert when it comes to finding great clothing like that to fit. All in all, very well done. :eusa_clap

Cheers!

Thank you Daniel! Finland is very good vintage collectors :)

I'm tempted to visit Finland at some point for the vintage clothes. Wouldn't mind living there in the future either as I think it would suit me perfectly - short summers and lots of cold weather, low population density, lots of forests, good suppy of vintage clothing, stable economy... How difficult is Finnish as a language?

Finnish is difficult as it is unlike other languages. Knowledge of English or German won't help you, I'm afraid. Thedanu has a good knowledge of Finnish as a non-native, maybe she can shine a light on it.

Sproily is absolutely right regarding the difficulty of Finnish to an outsider; but Finland is an officially bilingual country with Swedish (spoken as a first language by about 8% of the population) as its second language. In practice one never comes across Swedish except in the south and west, but it is perfectly possible to live through Swedish in Helsinki, Turku (Åbo) and Vaasa (Vasa), and with your knowledge of German, Scandinavian languages should be easy.

In fact I think it's even easier to move around with English, even though Swedish is also official many finns aren't as fluent in Swedish as in English. Nevertheless, I think it's nice to try to learn the language of a country when one is planning to live in it for a longer period of time. Finnish is indeed difficult, but certainly not impossible, and there are many foreigners that have managed to at least be able to mostly communicate in Finnish (of course nobody expects you to write poetry in Finnish :-D ). Another really nice thing is that since most of the foreginers usually don't try to learn Finnish, finns will be very supportive to you if you give it a try :)

Brilliant photo - the location, framing and poses really sell it for me, and I love the outfits. Especially love the dress, and especially the combination of those gloves with the dress - what were the original colors?

Unluckily enough the original colour is rather boring: black. Both the dress and the gloves. But I do quite love the dress as well, I found it in etsy and only had to make the waist a bit smaller so that it would fit perfectly :)

Au contraire, I was actually hoping it was black because then it would look the same in color, which I think is very striking, very sexy and noirish. Didn't want to call it "noirish" and then you tell me it's actually orange or green. XD

On sunday night, with a friend that had attenteded Tuska Open Air (the metal festival in Helsinki) :)
The dress is modern but I still quite like it, the cut is nice.
