Yesterday. Full shot is a little distorted; Mrs. O was standing too close when she snapped it.

First time I've worn this sportscoat in years. Mostly because I had nothing to wear it with. I thought I'd pair it with my new dark grey vest. It being a bit nippy today, I'll be wearing this when I head out later.

Comments, anybody?

The photo doesn't show it, but the waistcoat and the sportscoat are both graphite-grey. Waistcoat has some nice, light-grey pinstriping on it.

about twenty years ago I wore long hair even longer than yours and was amazed (how well it looked ;-) ) by the results of going to my barber (still the same) to ask if he could cut me a short back & sides and a pompadour like I used to wear when I was a child... (this sentence is going all over the place, sorry).
I still think that wearing a stingy-brim looks better with a shorter haircut, you could try it (no disrespect) but I suspect you will be quite satisfied if you decide to complete the look you're going for with a fine 'vintage' haircut, of course with and/or without the hat.

Nice suit, TTO.... where is it from? Looks a similar cut to the made-to-measure line from Roderick Charles. The cuts of all their stuff over the coupe of years I have been following them are very Fifties to my eye.

Love the colour, too: brown suits somehow have something immediately vintage about the look when accessorised right....not sure why.

I always dress for exams, so I am wearing my favorite suit today, with a contrasting vest, and since it is drizzly, my open road.

What colour goes with grey... the only one I can think of is jet black.

A more appropriate question would be "what color doesn't go with gray?" Gray is very neutral and almost anything looks good with it. In your case my instinct would be to lean towards a crimson or maroon.

What I wore on this hot day: dark blue Levi's 505, oxford shoes, a Van Heusen dress shirt, and my vintage Stetson. It got up to 85 degrees, but I was still OK with felt!

After my last class, an older lady, a professor I believe, told me that I was dressed very well. That was nice. In between classes though, a man I met at an office to pick up an envelope told me that my hat was nice, and "very east coast."

No photo, but today I am in a cotton/linnen blend short sleeve shirt (white, with a repeating pattern of vertical blue stripes of varying shades grouped together), light tan/ stone coloured trousers (modern, but with a nice high waist, and wide leg, quite late Forties look to them), Barker co-respondents in brown and cream. Outerwear is a drill cotton, eight panel newsboy in tan, and a Wested Raiders in goat as today is slightly cooler and damper here (I've been in linen all week so far). The Wested is on its first outing with me, and has proven to be a good buy for a Summer leather. I might have been tempted to go for something with a cotton sleeve-liner (body is cotton) had I been ordering one new, but I'm very pleased with it for what little I paid for a new-condition jacket on eBay. Not a single Indy comment either, FWIW. Guess nobody notices the whip on my belt.... ;)

After a few months of looking at how wonderful you all look, I've decided to finally post a pic! :eeek:

I'm shy. This takes a lot of courage! haha

None of it is particularly vintage. But it has the 'look.' So here it goes:

Sorry it's so small!
