That's what I'm talking about, Alan! Good show!

What's a 3/2 sack, incidentally? That's why I like these photos, so when I learn a new term, I know what it looks like, too!

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

A 3/2 sack is short for a three button roll to two sack suit. It's basically the old Brooks Brothers/J Press style with no darts. The third button rolls under the lapel and is not meant to be buttoned.

Here's today's get up:

Paul Stuart suit
Truzzi shirt (Attack of the Spread Collars!)
Paul Stuart tie
Dunhill linen square
Trafalgar woven braces
grey wool ribbed socks
C&J/Tom James black half-brogues

That Paul Stuart suit has a very nice wide lapel. It's a great suit and it fits you well. I also like the use of the woven tie; one doesn't see enough of them these days. It's an elegant look.

Very nice Sir, :eusa_clap

I assume you have a business position where those threads would
be worn on a regular basis.

I'm so glad this thread was started. The vintage and inspired-by vintage ensembles are always so inspiring, especially since I'm finding it difficult to participate myself.

I agree!

Today for me is wide-leg khaki trousers with low-heel black lace-up oxfords, black belt, a white shirt, and a pretty red cardigan.

Thanks! The tie is actually a grenadine, but a knit would work fine (it's what Bond wore after all!)

Today:

Also paired with dark grey wool trousers, wool dogtooth socks and burgundy full strap loafers.

I do dress more casually most of the time, but those tend not to be terribly interesting.

Yah, I know, I live in LA. However, I had a cold recently, so I've been freezing under the hot sun and dressing warm for it. I've been clashing this way the past couple days:

Weathered brown corduroy pants (reminicent of WPA issue) WWII USN/USMC roughouts (repros) vintage flannel over weathered green thermal T-shirt, M-422A flight jacket and an LL Bean "Moose River" fedora.

Yep, I'm going fishing.....with my vintage Shakespere rod/reel and vintage tackle with an antique 1946 fishing license button adorning the flannel.

Today was a black pinstripe circle skirt dress that I made from a re-released pattern from 1952, black stockings, black baby doll pumps which by the end of the day were black satin ballerina flats, black cardi and my favorite calla lily sweater guard. Also, my hair was up and I wore a purple lily in my hair. :D

Today I wore colors that aren't supposed to go together: navy blue rayon gab shirt w/matching sox, black pegged suit trou, brown shoes and ditto flight jacket, topped off with a charcoal grey Royal Stetson. Worked admirably, especially considering the shirt and sox had a vivid purplish cast and stood out nicely from the trou.
