Well, it's the first day of my Christmas holiday and my wife Nadia's at work so I haven't even got dressed yet, still in PJs & DG!

It's getting v. cold (for the UK) here, also, so when I go round the local butchers' to get the festive vittles, I'll be wearing a pair of Edwin Nashville selvedge jeans (the best denim you can buy, actually, it's SO thick), a five-button GI sweater, white 'silk' scarf, brown leather gloves, brown & white RL saddle shoes, Aero goatskin A-2 and a brown fedora. People usually look at me like I'm nuts, as Bath's a small town, really...

Tonite I'm DJing (vinyl, 45s-only) at pal's Christmas 'punk' gig so I'll shift gears and 'show some willing' to step into their frame of reference by sticking on the '56 wool 'letter' cardigan I got recently off ebay, with a black t-shirt, black Ace selvedge jeans, black Carolina engineer boots, white scarf, houndstooth eight-panel cap, black leather gloves and my black Aero Highwayman. I'll then play a 'so you think you're punk, eh?' set of 45s, featuring rip-roaring r'n'r from the '40s to the noughties, drink some free ale and toddle off home, where I'll prolly treat meself by watchin' "Roadhouse" with Ida Lupino & Richard Widmark on DVD...

This is me DJing at our work's festive bash the other week:

Cold, with settled snow and slush. So I dug deep and wore something that you can't get away with often in town — a phrase be used in the full knowledge you risk sounding like A Suitable Wardrobe (which I like, don't get me wrong) — puttees.

I don't have wellies or any long boots, so I wore what I had. And they worked: dry trouser cuffs, while all those around me without high boots were wringing wet.

Now that I am home and out of my uniform (as much as I love my MarPats they dont compare to old style haha)

I am currently lounging in a cardigan, a chambray shirt, and khaki trousers.

Got a date tonight, thinking of putting on a different shirt, keeping the cardigan, adding a tie, maybe switch to gray trousers and some nice brown oxfords. And since it is raining throwing on a tweed jacket a scarf and a nice newsboy style hat.

Nasty day here today- we're supposed to get two feet of snow, I'd say we've already got about a foot on the ground.

Yeah its impossible to tie ties to detachable collars.

This one is actually an attached collar from www.savilerowco.com. The quality is quite good.

Brendon: Cool lapel pin! Always a fan of that particular littile touch. I have some little bagpipes on my lapel in this pic taken at a Christmas party last night:

Everyone's so dapper and dashing. Though I've got my dancing dress on today, yesterday I slummed a bit, when Tony and I explored the beautiful art deco treasure of the First National Building.
