I have found that sometimes just adding a few vintage details like buttons or trims to a modern garment gives the feeling without having to worry about ruining vintage garments doing housework or other strenuous activities.
Also, I like to make my own from vintage patterns so I can have the best of both worlds (even though finding good fabrics is challenging these days).
Here's what I'm wearing today:
I made the snood from a 1940's crochet pattern using vintage rayon corde (like they used for handbags back then)
The dress is another Nordstrom that I bought the same time as the blue one - very comfy and yet has a vintage feel.
