Those boots are really amazing? Where did you find those?

Thanks! I got them from ebay from a guy in France! I love the White's boots and so far have lucked out getting a great deal on ebay rather than buying them directly! :)

Now, when the temperatures are finally low enough, I can accept the image of "landed gentry", as Bugsy once called me. So here is one nobleman in his new hat on his way from shopping for evening:

Yes, I finally bought a phone with a decent camera, so now I can take images outside. Hooray for me!
edit: not to mention my new glasses. I have a feeling that these are my first pair of glasses that actually makes me look better.

Evening attire: Worn to the opening night concert of the new season for the California Pops Orchestra. These two pics were taken after we got home, so my hair is a bit fuzzy- but I love this roller set! Yes, my husband and I did dance in the aisles for one of the numbers in the show, called "Piano and Strings", a VERY slow foxtrot.

Midnight blue silk chiffon with black beading evening tunic style top

Here are a few shots from the Big Band Hangar Dance in DFW last night (pardon the quality-- my friends don't know how to use a camera :) )

Hat: Vintage
Gloves: Vintage
Pearls: Vintage
Dress: Made by me from a 1943 pattern
Cuban heel stockings: SockDreams.com
T-strap character shoes: Leo's dance shoes

My favorite shot of the night! This is me getting a kiss on the cheek from Glenn McDuffie, the famous "Kissing Sailor" from the LIFE magazine photo! (it was rather late in the evening and my hair had started to droop :( )

Here's a shot with my pal, Tim, infront of Chuckie, the B17

Here I am with a few of my pals-- you can see the hat in this picture.

was at a 1920s event at Governor's Island a few weeks ago: fur stole, navy blue dress, fishnets, black ankle boots, black wool cardigan (thrifted), crocheted navy blue lace cloche hat (self-made).

Really loving the vintage blue collar look. Someday I'll have saved up enough for some Whites... and some Canes... and some Cushman....

Isn't it crazy how it costs an arm and a leg now just to dress like a minimum-wage factory worker from back in the day?

It can be crazy but you don't NEED to go the "Brand-Name" route.
I think it is possible to dress vintage work-a-day without turning to the Japanese luxury clothing. I really think so.:)
