Thanks for compliments everyone. The interview was for a federal government position so I'm sure I'll have to wait a few weeks to hear anything. Heck, I had applied for it way back in December. [huh]

Quig, hope things works out for you with that Fed position. They sure could use some of your style :D

Navy and cream straw hat w/ rhinestone trim

Pic 1 is how I wore it to church, excuse the not vintage hair. Pic 2 sans hat shows the hair partly still put up by a vendor at the Expo, for dress to be period correct it should without the belt.

thanks cherry lips...

The color is Clinique's "REDREDRED". I have been wearing it with all my Art Deco era and 40s stuff for some time now. I've found a couple of good matches for red nail polish too. I have my basic set of makeup with this and another favorite Revlon Moondrops pink lipstick that I wear all the time that goes with all my clothes and matches my skin coloring well (vintage and modern).

I'll put this info in a message in the Beauty section too.

Nothing new here - I could even post an old pic. After a couple of day with sun, blue sky and almost spring, we are back in the windy, cold rain.
So the old Irvin jacket and the white RN sweater is out of the closet again.
Oh well...[huh]

please post pic anyway...

I'm new so I probably never saw it before.

I really enjoy seeing the pics of all of you handsome and charming gents on the FL in your vintage clothes and hats. :eusa_clap It inspires and spurs me on to continue in my own search for my wannabe vintage 1940's gal look. Plus I'm getting ideas to share with my DH and DS to help and encourage them in their own vintage journeys. Thanks...

All I can say is WOW! To use the vernacular of the teenagers and younger kids out here where I am, you look HOT. (I can't believe I just said that...:D -but its true) You've knocked me out, completely- even down to those fabulous socks and shoes of yours. You're wearing it well, honey...

ah, a beauty...

to Kools, Oh YES! :eusa_clap I've seen some of your pics in the last week or so, you are one sharp vintage dresser. Always a pleasure... ;)

Is this young baby son with you on your avatar pic??

I am taking notes here, guys! Perhaps DH needs to join this group, so I don't have to keep calling him over to the computer to see the pics of y'all in these excellent vintage duds. Our son Daniel is probably too young to join the FL (though he'd love it), and he doesn't have his own email yet anyway...

Very kind of you to say, madame. I just picked up the socks the night before, and I almost typed "I love these socks!" but I was hoping someone else would notice them.

always looking at socks nowadays, if possible

One of my favorite movie star fashion icons (male) - Fred Astaire always had cool socks. When I watch his film these day, I'm actually focused now on his clothes and how well he put pieces together- not just his dancing! Gee, maybe I need to go to the golf shops to look for socks to go with vintage clothes for DH and DS...
