Spectacular outfit, Mr. Strike! I love the leather lanyard for the watch chain:eusa_clap Was this common in the golden era? Do they make leather watch lanyards, or is this your creation? I have my great grandfather's pocket watch that this would be spectacular with!

Well since you asked..............

Minneapolis: -8, Haze."
I wonder what the folks in the tundra of Minneapolis are wearing to keep the chill off?
lol

The weather is heading towards -15 tonight. That's brisk. My wife just called (I'm still at the shop) and said that the ice on top of the house is exploding [huh] . Oh well, here's what the local frozen Haberdasher is wearing tonight:

^^Marty -- Great shirt/tie combo. And I'm lovin' the peaks.

I want that tie. The close up shot is my new background. Any around the shop?

Stay warm!

Thanks buddy. I do have an extra. You might have this line, "J.Z Richards Gallery Collections". PM me your address and I'll send it tomorrow. By the way, the tie has a better looking brother in blue ;) .

Thanks.

Jovan A classic looking suit, Marty. Just a bit more belly to the lapels and you've got something James Stewart would have worn.

Thanks Jovan. I agree about the belly. I do like more of a belly on my peaked lapels

Josephine That's a hell of a tie, Marty.

Thanks Josephine. Say, aren't we do for another Josephine pic soon?

Why did you roll up your sleeves loosen your tie and take off your jacket for school. When I go to school I never do. Do they not let you wear a jacket to school???[huh] You look so good in the first picture why would you purposley not look as good?

What a classic. That fabric pattern has been and will be around forever. The hacking pockets are outstanding. I like the Ascot with it. Have you ever worn a wool Challis tie with the suit and shirt combo?
Marty Mathis

Didn't see this before now, sorry; yes, I've tried every wool tie I own - I have a couple of tartan ones that seem to work well (Black Watch pattern, etc.). Russell plaid isn't the easiest to match anything with - it's like a scaled-up POW check, I suppose.

Outstanding outfit Lucky. You gotta love Peccary gloves. I really like your cuff width. It looks at least 3"?

Changed out of the suit now, but I think it's 2,5".

The lanyard was just a thingie that turned up at a flea-market. It seems to have been made for a watch, as the clips are the miniature carabiner type you normally see at the end of regular watch-chains. No idea if I'm using it "correctly", but I've seen watches being carried in breast pockets with a shorter lanyard and a T-bar at the end, buttoned through the lapel. If you watch the Laurie/Fry "Jeeves & Wooster" TV series, you'll see Bertie wearing one like it. I found a couple of NOS ones for sale on the net some time ago...I'll have a look around.

Today's:

I say he's looking dashing caj. When my dad (an accountant) started working on budgets, you can bet that the blazer came off and the sleeves rolled up. ;)

Today I am wearing a orange brown leaf print blouse with black pants. I'll have my pearls on and make-up on as soon as I finish my breakfast and exercise.

If I can find my camera, I'll take a pic. Not true vintage but kinda vintage looking. lol
