Thank you so much!

Last Saturday we picked up his new suit! It's a newly tailored one with measurements taken from one of my boyfriend's original vintage suits. Most of the original suits he owns are black... Since the ones with color are hard to come by over here or they're incomplete. Hence he has chosen a rather showy color :p

Neat! I could imagine more of this on the FL instead of modern casual clothing.

Today's effort although over dressed for the woods where no one will see me lol View attachment 117088 View attachment 117089 View attachment 117090 View attachment 117091
Well done as always. I could use trousers like this too.

Claudio, I'm impressed by how you manage to make such a bold outfit look harmonious, I wonder if apart from your good taste it is to do with complexion-Though I am part Mediterranean myself, I think I being lighter skinned would have a hard time pulling it off.

What a hectic day it was yesterday. My brother's daughter was getting married and the service would be at twelve noon, so we were up scrubbed and out, on the double.
There's only one, what you might call sombre suit, in my wardrobe. I bought it twelve years ago for my brother-in-law's funeral, not really suitable for a wedding, everything else is so era inspired, I was at pains to 'dress down' as it were.
In the end I chose the brown pin stripe, it's single breasted, doesn't have a long zoot appearance, but it's still authentic 40's appearance, so I wore a pair of spectators with it. At my wife's insistence I wore the hat, although not until after the service. Being a church service it was hats off so I left it in the car. I need not have worried, my brother had pre-empted his friend, the one who was on usher duty. "Look for the vintage suit," he was told.
Last Monday my wife's outfit was no more than a paper pattern, an original 1940's pattern. By Friday it was finished, that's suit and blouse, and what a finish it was too, so gratifying when the younger guests there, complimented her. Here she is all scrubbed up before leaving. I've recycled a previous photo of my outfit because I forgot to get a shot of my own.

You both look utterly charming, really you do.
Thank you, both of you, much appreciated.
That Sheringham 40's weekend must continue through today. I wish I had known, although getting to East Anglia from the south coast might have been a tad optimistic. Looking at that photo though, I seem to recall you, have you ever been to the Hep Cats weekender at Pakefield?

As you say, it's a bit of a trek from the South coast to North Norfolk. The Sheringham event does continue today. It's becoming bigger and bigger every year, the little high street is quiet packed by mid-day but it's always great fun. Alas, as wonderful as it must be to be a "Hep Cat" I'm afraid you are mistaken, it wasn't me guv.
