It looks good, not too loose. That is about as wide-legged as I would consider, myself, however.

I have on a vintage tie now, a late '50s or early '60s Wembley.

Here is a selection of pictures which I intended to upload earlier, they are from a recent trip of mine to Hawaii. Due to high temperatures and the extreme casual atmosphere, I wore no suits so these pictures show me, pretty much as casual as it gets.

(Of course, click on the pictures for higher resolution)

Nice! I was at Hawaii as well, earlier this month. I did not dress up anymore than wearing khakis and a long-sleeved safari shirt with slip-on canvas shoes and a straw Sunbody fedora hat, in order to protect my skin from the hot sun. I could tell you from my experience, ties are extremely uncommon in Hawaii, and I don't think I've spotted anybody other than the plane pilot wearing one. However, I do feel like I could have handled wearing a tie without discomfort. Ties are really not uncomfortable if one's shirt collar fits, and they can be loosened down a bit anyway. At night, I could have even used a jacket, as it does get chilly sometimes.

It looks like a good job to me. Do you strap it down at the sides, or button it? Knickers or breeches are something I cannot bring myself to wear, yet, but I have respect for those brave enough to wear them as they used to.
