Naw, I actually found it crumpled up in a dusty ball in the corner of a thrift store. I don't think it's vintage, but is actually hand-tailored, 100% wool. The pants were unhemmed, leading me to believe it was completely unworn. A good dry cleaning and pressing, and it came out mint condition ;-) Though I would jump on any Bogie recreation suit any day!

On the left is the original Dark Passage suit to which I was referring. Yours looks to be very close. I also have one that looks almost identical which I purchased new off eBay a few months ago.

cpdv, excellent... the jacket has a very 20s feel. how modern is it ?

(p.s. you DO have a 20s-type face. i have a more 50s face which works against any other era i try to wear).

HBK: Interesting analysis of facial types. I agree on both observations (although your face seems more 'fifties continental movie' rather than fifties USA).
Any more period-facial analysis for other FL posters?

cpvd: that is an outrageous jacket - do you have any details on it, manufacturer, time period, etc? And you look great in it and, yes, your looks lean 1920s in a very good way.

herringbonekid: around your eyes, you have a resemblance to Steve Buscemi (especially in Boardwalk Empire), but, overall, and with all due respect to Mr. Buscemi, you have more of a Classic Hollywood look; whereas, he has a works-for-him, quirky look.

I definitely need to try a pink tie or bow tie with neutral coloured clothes like that.

From Saturday,

Test driving my new Swedish work trousers.
They are a hit with my more hippified friends.

Last night, wearing my just received tie from Two Types.
Cheers!

HBK gives me a 1940s feel, slightly underfed wartime Englishman. ;)
Or it might just be the facial expression.
That is a great sweater indeed.
A great example of lots of patterns that should be too much in theory, but instead complement each other.
