Very cool and understated

Great look, and that cap suits you.
The pose and background makes me think of those 'for the working man!' Communist propaganda posters.

A question,fellows...

I came across these glasses :
http://www.flickr.com/photos/96251424@N02/9321916581/

they are or appear to be brass frames but have modern black plastic arm ends.

My Question is, are they or do they look to be (obviously they're not originals) about 1920's -1930's era-ish ?
Just the look of, is my curiosity.

I am unsure due to the size (circumference) of the lenses.

Educate me, Please....

I wear those a lot. they really haven't changed much since the 20s 30s but people now associate them with John Lennon, He's one of the more popular celebrity's to wear them.

Yup.

If there is one thing that is certain, it's that they have been for something like the past 30+ yrs Lennon glasses.
but even he was most likely inspired (you'd think) by them.

As happens, I did come across somethin' like 'em on eBay in the past hour

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pair-of-Vtg...730?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ec8cfc712

...just never sure about that, as the seller may not necessacarily be fully knowledgable or educated on what is
they are sellin'
so, I knew where to go to ask....

John Lennon chose those glasses for the movie "How I won the war" as they were standard NHS (National Health Service) issue and would have been worn by his working class character

That is interesting. I had wondered why he chose that style.

Now,I certainly am not choosing them on account of him having "repopularized" them.

Thank You for the help, fellas.

I went to a wedding, and I wore my 1950's suit. The center piece, though, was the tie. I'd show it off in the Tie thread, but I'm pretty sure that it's a little bit more modern than the 40's the thread is for, so here it is. Forgive the lack of a full body shot, please.

You can see double from my profile pic.

Trying on some recent acquisitions.

Jacket is A.T. Hendrick, Denver, CO from the 1940s.

Vest is Guiterman Bros from the 1910s.

Hat is Miller Philadelphia from the 1940s.

Kids snap the best pics, finally found an A-2 (repro) that fits and for good price at the thrift. Only thing I'm not liking the extra room in the body and arms, is it possible to have it tailored in anyway?

Unfortunately I think there's a contradiction here. If a jacket fits, there's to me little need for tailoring. A-2s are hard to do much with, you can make the sleeves shorter, but taking the jacket in, I don't know. You'll get the hot water treatment suggestions, I'd just say get detailed instructions from Butte or likes. They know that part, or even if it is doable to begin with.
