Re-reading The Devil in the White City--Great story!
As I Knew Him: My Dad, Rod Serling. By Anne Serling. God. Just realized after I posted that I already posted this. Hello hospital lol
Finally started on the Shelby Foote, 'Civil War' three volume set. Man there is a lot of name dropping - I find myself running to Google to see what each of them looked like! I'll let you know in December how it ends!! -dixon cannon
It's really good. You just think you know about a person, then you read and realize, no, you don't. I recommend it - not just because it's Rod Serling. It's a really good story of the man, the times, and his relationships. I am liking it a lot!Being a huge Twilight Zone fan since childhood, I read a Serling bio years ago, and found the man to be a highly interesting and multi-layered personality. I'm going to pick up this one by his daughter.
... the "Killer Angels" by Michael Shaara many years ago. It was on my commander's reading list
for all the officers in the battalion. What I got out of it was the futility of war when tactics don't keep up with technology.
Ever assigned Col. John Boyd's Clausewitzian triad elude, "Observe; Orient; Decide; Act" Loop doctrine?
