Floyd Tillman -- I'll Take What I Can Get

I wanted someone that I love
To fall in love with me
For all these years of wanting now
I know it just can't be
I'll go down to the old dance hall
And find a girl to pick
If I can't find the girl I want
I'll take what I can get

I'll take anything I can get
I'm feeling awful sad
I want someone to hug and pet
Who needs some loving bad
I don't care if I've known her long
Or someone I just met
If I can't find the girl I want
I'll take what I can get

I'll never have the happy home
I've always dreamed about
Gotta have some lovin' bad
I just can't do without
I'll go down to the old dance hall
And find my girl to pet
If I can't have the girl I want
I'll take what I can get

I'll take anything I can get
I'm feeling awful sad
I want someone to hug and pet
I need some loving bad
I don't care if I've known her long
Or someone I just met
If I can't find the girl I want
I'll take what I can get

When I go out, it's all a game
We start to talking right
Well, we talked of almost everything
Far into the night
The subject always ends with girls
Leaves me sad and blue
I'm wanting someone that I love
And I don't know what to do

I'll take anything I can get
I'm feeling awful sad
I want someone to hug and pet
I need some loving bad
I don't care if I've known her long
Or someone I just met
If I can't have the girl I want
I'll take what I can get

I have been listening to a lot of X lately. Ain't Love Grand's Burning House of Love is a great song--just shows that punk can be good and commercial, too.

I've given The Devil Makes Three a good listen...didn't seen to be quite for me, though.

Charlie Parr.
The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band.

My Lady feels somewhat the same as do you. She will be going with me to see them live and I am pretty certain her opinion will improve once she hears their live sound and feels the energy of a live show.

Jack Reno -- Don't Water Down The Bad News

Well, all day long you talked around
The point you want to make
I appreciate the way you tried
To give my pride a break
But we both know that half a truth
Is always half a lie
So if you don't love me
Tell me like it is and let me die, die, die
Tell it like it is and let me die

Don't water down the bad news, baby
I can drink it straight
Don't stutter and stammer and yak and yammer
And hedge and hesitate
You can't dilute the bitter truth
With words of sympathy
Don't water down the bad news for me

Don't try to soothe my feelings
With a tender goodbye kiss
Just plunge the knife on in
And give it one big final twist
Don't try to ease the pain by saying
You're to blame not me
Just cut my heart out quick
And walk on out and let me bleed, bleed, bleed
Just walk on out the door and let me bleed

Don't water down the bad news, baby
I can drink it straight
Don't stutter and stammer and yak and yammer
And hedge and hesitate
You can't dilute the bitter truth
With words of sympathy
Don't water down the bad news for me
