I'm listening to something quite different today:

NASA's Voyager recordings 1977.

"The 5 volumes of recordings are created from original Voyager recordings using the instruments on the probes to translate the vibrations that come from different sources such as planetary magnetosphere, radio waves bouncing off the planets, interplanetary magnetic fields, and particle emissions".

I don't think anyone could have guessed just how haunting and soothing these recordings would turn out to be! Brian Eno and the other ambient minimalists eat your hearts out!

James Young could well have had a career, but he wouldn't change his name from "Big Sambo", and unfortunately, fifty years ago, when this came out, the Radio Stations wouldn't play it. Shame....:D

Sort of a mixed bag tonight:

London Swing Orchestra -- You're The Cream In My Coffee

Sandie Shaw -- Long Live Love
with Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra
I love Jools Holland's orchestral accompaniment in this version
