Obviously Bob Seger was the one to have the big hit with it.

Rodney Crowell & Steve Earle are the two to outlive all their contemporaries like Townes, Guy & Susanna, Prine, etc. I’m sure he was thinking about that when Rodney released this last arrangement.

I’ve never heard this song before. I was on my way home yesterday and was passing through the neighborhood next to mine when I heard this song coming from somebody’s backyard, I guess they were having a party that night, but I was totally spellbound by this song that I had to stop and listen to it. When I got home I Googled it and found it!
