What alterations does this need?

This is the Hart, Schaffner, Marx suit I got the other day. Straight out of the box (goofy expression and all):

So what alterations do I need? I want the waistcoat to fit tighter, and I think the jacket needs to fit a little more snugly, but what do I need to be careful of here? Does it look okay just like it is, or do I need some adjustments?

I'm in complete and utter agreement with M.C. The suit looks great! For me, I would be hesitant to alter for fear that they may make a mistake. If altered, please promise that you will take it to a tailor and not some corner cleaners. Otherwise, enjoy the fantastic suit.

That was my first thought; other than that, from these shots, it looks a nice suit, good to go.

An excellent suit and it's perfectly fine as it is. :)

If I owned it, I would lengthen the legs a touch as Baron observed. I may also take in the jacket, though by your photo it is difficult to tell. I like a little pull to the top button.

However, I would confidentally wear it as it is, unless the legs are even shorter than they appear.

The trouser legs look short in the first photo because J.B. has his hand in the right pocket and has put his left leg forward. This raises both trouser legs a bit. With hands out of pockets and legs evenly together, the trousers's legs would return to their normal (and perfectly fine) length.

I just want to know where his SHIRT sleeves are hiding! ;)

Somewhere around my biceps ;) I was wearing a short-sleeve shirt and just threw the vest and jacket on for the picture. I wear a long-sleeve when I wear the 3pc suits in public, thank you very much. ;)

I think everything looks fine, even the trousers. Are those 2" cuffs? :D

Yes. Pretty swanky, I think. :D

I've decided not to do anything to this suit for the time being (maybe just have suspender buttons put in, but that's it). It fits a little looser than the one I'm wearing today, but that's okay, as it's a lighter-weight suit and should be cooler that way. The dark charcoal 3pc. I'm wearing right now (the same one from my avatar) is very nice, but heavier, virgin wool. It's only 70 degrees here today, so that's just fine -- which I'm glad about, this suit is extraordinarily comfortable -- but that HSM suit is a looser weave and will be more comfortable as the midwest summer starts to heat up.
