Western, anyone?

Probably bought by a museum or movie studio. You just never know. Just look what happened when the family auctioned all the stuff off from the Roy Rogers museum. Trigger & the dog were bought by a radio station in Iowa somewhere to be put on display in their lobby.

Yeah , I thought the exact same thing , a museum , but a costume person in someplace might have jumped on it . There's a place that specializes in ole west get ups , I've seen it , they sell on something , eBay , Etsy , or something , authentic vintage western apparel ... seems like its a woman's name , she has a store somewhere .

That seem disrespectful to me . They had one of Roy's Hats , too in the Auction .

I'm ready for the warm weather - my eBay Bandera straw arrived. Made here in Fort Worth.

The brim seems to have gotten a little wonky in shipping, but should be a good beater hat for $16 shipped.

Thanks David. Definitely not a bad hat for $16. I probably should try and find a straw as well. Warm weather will be on us here in the Mid West before we know it.

Understood Joao--But the style works for me--with regard to both aesthetics and tradition as I embrace the Californio style of horsemanship, style, etc. I'm a hard fit in any kind of hat due to my small head, long face, etc. Proportions have to be just right or they just plain don't work. Anything with a tall crown, sloped crease ala Gus/Mix, make my face look three feet longer haha. To quote the "Hag": "I wear my own kind of hat"

I agree, it looks good on you. Reminds me a lot of what Buck Brannaman typically wears.

But still you wear it well.
My problem is the top of the crown touching my head. If that wouldn't be the case, it's all good to me.

But still you wear it well.

Stringmaster, I love that hat. I had the opportunity to ride with Mr Brannaman earlier this year and one of his guys had a vaquero style hat I really liked. Someone here had ordered one from Montana Rio a while back I think, does that ring a bell for anyone? I'd be tickled to get a nice buckaroo style hat, just haven't done it.

@56FordGuy , that's what happens when you're Red/Green Color Blind , Gray , Green , Red , in certain light they look the same . Not good at traffic lights , Red is on top (Trust me) , or the Left (sideways lights) .

Brannaman is awesome and an inspiration--I've attended some of his clinics as well--and have his DVD's. Appreciate the compliment--many of my friends sport the style, being into Californio style. Just do it

I've watched several of his clinics and have the DVDs as well. Riding one was an incredible experience, but almost overwhelming. Everything he says, everything he points out that other riders were doing was valuable and worth remembering, but it's hard to watch everyone else and work your own horse at the same time. You just knew you were missing something important while focusing on your own stuff, which was tough for me to adapt to at first. We got settled in though, learned a lot even if we were trying to drink from a fire hose. Maybe one day I'll get good at it.
