I've watched several of his clinics and have the DVDs as well. Riding one was an incredible experience, but almost overwhelming. Everything he says, everything he points out that other riders were doing was valuable and worth remembering, but it's hard to watch everyone else and work your own horse at the same time. You just knew you were missing something important while focusing on your own stuff, which was tough for me to adapt to at first. We got settled in though, learned a lot even if we were trying to drink from a fire hose. Maybe one day I'll get good at it.

Buckaroo today.

Understood Joao--But the style works for me--with regard to both aesthetics and tradition as I embrace the Californio style of horsemanship, style, etc. I'm a hard fit in any kind of hat due to my small head, long face, etc. Proportions have to be just right or they just plain don't work. Anything with a tall crown, sloped crease ala Gus/Mix, make my face look three feet longer haha. To quote the "Hag": "I wear my own kind of hat" :)

I wonder how a Bowler or a Derby might work for you. You see them a lot in the old movies, even some of the old westerns.

Seeing David bring out his Bandera straw reminded me that back in the fall I picked up this old Bailey. Built on a 3-1/2 x 6" I really liked the look. It needs a little cleaning & straightening up. I'd like to change the pug to a Native American print if anyone knows of a source. I've researched how to make one but I don't think I'm domesticated enough (as Hank Jr sang, "...most of us have been penned up but I'm still runnin' wild"). If I can do that I have an imitation eagle feather for it. If not I'll probably look for a leather hatband.

OK ... I'm going to have to seriously think about getting one of these during the next Everything Australian sale. Looks great on you!
Thanks Bob, you would look good in one! Wore it to see my banker today, & later to Happy Hour. Remember if you want black you have to order it & wait 3 months (mine came in about 2-1/2 months) so I don't know if it qualifies for the sales or not.

TJ , that crease couldn't get any better , seriously . Love everything about it . It looks like Fonda's Hat Crease and Brim in My Darlin Clementine . To me anyway .

HJ , I think when EA has a Sale it's Everything , even Special Orders . I bought my Woomera on the Sale , thought about the Darker Colors , but I wanted it ASAP . So I got what was In-Stock . But you did a Fine Job on Both your Woomeras Jack ! You are probably Selling some Woomeras for Akubra !
