I have always wanted one of these.Just never got around to it, found this today in great shape. Had a very high brim,still high at 5".

I have an Akubra Bobby on order so I will be looking forward to contributing to this thread when it arives. I'm seeing about getting it open crown to work on the crease myself.

The Good and the Ugly

No Bad here, just one custom job from a friend at Hatco, ribbon and binding are not as golden as in photos. This is a one of a kind Resistol made to my specs, almost too flashy to wear, but looks good hanging on a stand in my house. The other one is what my cowboy hats usually end up looking like after a year or two. This one still gets wear. It's been in barfights, run over by horses and cattle alike, gone through nasty brush, hit quite a few ceiling fans and doorways, and been rained on until it weighed about ten pounds. The dark stains are a combination of sweat, blood and possibly horse urine, from getting knocked off at the stables. When it's unwearable, it will go on the wall, and the fresh one waiting in the box will be called up.

Thanks, Dan! It was really fun working on a new crease for The Buckaroo, and I really enjoy wearing it. I have to thank feltfan for turning me on to this lid.

You know, Rusty -- in light of the fact that FedoraFest III is heading to Southfork, I may need to re-think my lid selection and go with a more "Texas Friendly" approach this time around...
