A very nice hat, and one which will double as a birdbath in a hard rain.
That’s my Akubra Kentucky Rancher: Avery few minutes I tilt my head down to drain the moat!
I really like my curled brims.

Not a Tom Mix but a reposting of this Knox Stagecoach refurb that everyone's already seen. It's a pretty big hat with a 7 inch open crown and a 4 1/2 inch brim with a kettle curl...
Is there a way to post you tube videos from our phones rather than from our desk computers? I used to be able to post pictures from "Post Image" and videos from YouTube from my phone but not anymore.
Thank you Mike!very nice hat!!
That's kinda like that Range 6x I had in mind. I googled this Resistol cattleman, it says it has a 4 inch brim, but your pics look like 3. Did you trim the brim?
Out of curiosity Brent, how many hats do you have? LoL

It fluctuates. I’d say around 300, but only about 75 are in what I consider to be my permanent collection. The others are either hats I bought with the intention of reselling them, hats I bought just to satisfy my curiosity, or hats that I bought thinking they would fill a niche but haven’t won me over. I buy, sell, and trade a lot of hats. My goal keeps changing, but I’d like to get it down to 50 felt hats and 10 “straw” hats.
How did you get interested in hats? Where do you store them all?
Honestly, they are all over the house. Each of my “core collection” hats have a box and all but maybe eight are kept in their boxes. Those eight are my regular everyday hats. The transient hats are all over: my trunk, my garage, in a guest bedroom, and in all sorts of other places.
This is a sitting room not used for much with a pile of hats that recently arrived and are mostly waiting to be brushed, steamed, shaped, and listed on eBay:
What is your eBay handle, Brent (assuming you want to share it, if not, please ignore this post !) ?
That has got to be the most glorious illustration of full swing HAS I've ever seen. Love it.Honestly, they are all over the house. Is it okay if I show this picture to my wife? I doubt if it’ll make any difference tho.Honestly, they are all over the house. My wife would look and just think I snapped a picture of the downstairs............AND ASK ME "why do you need a picture of your piles like that?"......and to make sure I cleaned it up before we had people over......Is it okay if I show this picture to my wife? I doubt if it’ll make any difference tho.
^^ i just use the hat collages to distract interlopers from all the leather jackets hanging everywhere.

Hoppy...i moved into an apartment in 86’, site unseen relocating from Indianapolis, called to get the gas or electric turned on. The person on the phone said “oh, you live in Hoppy’s old apartment”.Why isn't it an OR? My brother lives in Follansby WV, how's the local economy going? I haven't been back since 2010. I don't know Piker, but I know Hoopy. LoL
PIKERS!!!....you gave me a first cup of coffee belly laugh Brent and a stroll down memory lane with that one.
37 yrs ago when i relocated to this West Virginia mecca called Morgantown, home of the mighty West Virginia Mountaineers, throwback hippie town, always in the top few US college party towns, the locals referred to Pikers as the great unwashed who lived out in the beyond on Kingwood Pike a narrow serpentine road that took you through a part of scenic almost heaven in a drive that took forever to get nowhere. Along the way you’d be transported back in time where the remnants of hard working coal miners home’s and homesteads peaked out from ever encroaching nature, many still occupied. Electric lines were non-existant then and sparse today.
I’d never heard the term Piker except here. Maybe Cali piker’s are different.
Funny thing is that now that whole area is a prime goldmine for development being so close yet so far away from the towneys.
