Walden…well, the felt and liner is Walden, but everything else is from my friend Rick @humanshoes of the Phoenix Hat Co. We all miss seeing Rick around these parts.
Nice find, Bob. I'm sure yours will clean up nicely.I was the only bidder on this Rancheros Visitadores scarf/neckerchief slide from 1952. Silver with a bit of gold. Just in case I get invited to the ride in May.
Not as cool at Greg's or Vic's hats, but it's a start.

I just finished reworking this Circa 1980 Stetson 4X. It had a generous slightly tapered 6 inch crown.
I re-flanged or should I say removed any flange and brought to open crown. The result is a just under 3" completely flat brim and a hand done porkpie crown. Crown now breaks at just over 4 1/2".
I added the circa 1900 Stetson Hat pin which fit perfect over the ribbon.......I will be/am wearing it today!

No, not on this one.....came from a SAS/Shooting Sports background....ribbon is "glued on" so I cannot will not claim that evil. I sort of liked it, coupled with not wanting to tackle the removal at this time, (I said "Screw it") and left alone for now......Nice job. Did you do the ribbon and bow work too?
And for some reason I can't get the picture to post. So try, try again.Road trip to Phoenix. Stopped at the Big Texan Steak Ranch and Brewery for the best onion rings I've had. The ribeye was great too. They even had a place to hang the Gannon Big Four while we ate.
I mentioned trying your technique for reshaping a hat... the one I want to work is very similar to this one of yours... Thank you for your input/feedback on how you shape them. Not a Tom Mix but a reposting of this Knox Stagecoach refurb that everyone's already seen. It's a pretty big hat with a 7 inch open crown and a 4 1/2 inch brim with a kettle curl...
You're welcome. Have you tried it yet?I mentioned trying your technique for reshaping a hat... the one I want to work is very similar to this one of yours... Thank you for your input/feedback on how you shape them.

top right is a LBJ Resistol 7x with original box from 1963 which was a present from Lyndon B Johson to one of Ludwig Erhard‘s team
Ditto. In this thread:I would love to see more of the Resistol (inside and out) when you have time.
