Thanks TJ. It's a little better than 2 1/2 inches. Pretty tight for a western model.
It looked a little wider to me from the picture. I was figuring around 3 inches. But, that slightly wider than 2 1/2 inches is definitely working for that hat. It's got a real nice casual looking late '50s - early '60s vibe going on. I like that look.

Check out this guy's hat on the bass fiddle. It looks to be an open road style with a western curled 2 1/2 brim...

That's kind of the look I was going for. This hat's basically an open road style and the sides were already pushed up a little when I got it. I just pushed them up a little more. The guy I got it from said he had been in a bluegrass group and he wore it when he played.
