I wouldn't call it a souvenir shop as that emplies cheap junk. The shop would have been a dealer of better merchandise & the sweat was embossed as such. No different than a Western Wear store.

So it was great buy. It‘s rare to find original Western HATS in Germany!

That Ponderosa Ranch was a theme park at Lake Tahoe, NV & had no connection to the 1960's TV series. I think it closed about 10 yrs ago. They probably sold hats & other branded merchandise thru their shops in the park. It is a nicely shaped hat.

I think parts of the show were actually shot there. I remember going at least once when I was younger. They had built up a strip of buildings to be 'Virginia City' that had different shops and what not.

I bought a Ten X Beaver Western Hat today on a Fleamarket.
I was very suprised after reading the sweatband lettering!
Ponderosa Ranch. I know the series Ponderosa But never saw a hat with this lettering. Any suggestion?

The amusement park operated in Incline Village, Nevada, near Lake Tahoe, from 1967 until 2004. The shirts that weren't T shirts were like what the characters wore also. Not at all unusual for attractions like that, very much in line with getting mouse ear caps at Disneyworld but the hats were regular quality and not the costume stuff.
