Nice one.
This Stetson Junior Cowboy is a pretty rare hat for someone's collection.
It depends on a few things for me. The size and shape of the man's head and face and what kind of weather he'll be wearing it in.I left it open crown for now till I decide what crease to give it...and the liner is not attached just yet. I'm going to see if I can clean it up a little more.
OK....What crease would you give it....?

Jack, take a look at the Russell Moccassin website. They talk a lot about R&R jobs.In one case they literally coated the boots, put them in a black plastic garbage bag then set them out in the sun!Any leather workers out there? These are my saddle bags from when I was a kid. I've been trying to clean, condition & soften them up to see if it's worth the effort to relace them or not. So far I'm not making much headway. I'm using Fiebings Glycerin bar soap & Bick 4. Any suggestions? The color of the hat is natural beaver but it is blown out so the bags aren't shown so dark. They were a dark brown, not black.
I've used Neatsfoot OIL not Compound on my grandfather's old boots. They softened up good. Compound will breakdown stitching.Any leather workers out there? Thanks for the tips guys. I'll check both out. Some of the lacing is broken so I won't mind taking them apart if I know for sure that something like Neatsfoot Oil or even the Compound will work. I would then rebuild & relace them. If not then I would prefer to just leave them be.I've used Neatsfoot OIL not Compound on my grandfather's old boots. They softened up good.
