I have just been informed that Bill has a back up of VLJ, so perhaps all the information has not been lost. Let's hope it can be incorporated in the new VLJ forum.

Any company that hosts online sites that does NOT have a backup is completely incompetent. Hoping indeed that they have a recent backup and know how to rebuild it properly...such a shame if it's all lost.

The issue is that the backups may not be compatible with the current formats. Any way let's see what Bill and Nathan can do.

Which is why they should restore the old iteration before doing any upgrades then do it.
I do this stuff all day, so I know what a PITA it is, but it takes planning too...wishing for good things here.

Sounds as if (fingers crossed) there's a good chance that stuff can be salvaged.

I certainly hope so as I really cannot think of a site which is as close to an encyclopaedia for flying jackets as VLJ, plus it really would be a tragedy if all that amount of information was lost forever.

Best of luck with getting it all back up and running. There's a hell of a lot of people rooting for VLJ to be back in the pink!

Andrew, as you know I only post over at VLJ now and then but I do drop by fairly often. But if I am after info or have a specialised question regarding flying jackets or am after something it's the first place I'll go.

BTW and off topic but sorry I missed the BoB celebrations, I daresay Søren might have told you we've been renovating a couple of rooms in the new house here which has been slightly expensive (moral of the story don't let the better half choose what seem to be the most expensive bathroom tiles known to man when you're not looking!)

Hope you and yours are well. We're looking at popping over to London and the south eastern counties next summer to visit family. Maybe lunch at The White Hart or similar if you're around about?

I sure hope so. I had some info in PMs on there that I printed but have since misplaced - information about jacket construction, material links, etc. I'd hate to not be able to recover that. My fault, though.
