Yup, they eat up all the big body-on-frame V8, RWD boats. It's a waste of fine automobiles. As of this year, with the death of the Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, and Town Car, there are no USA built body-on-frame, V8, RWD sedans.

I love the Dean Martin Show! I can't get enough of the Celebrity Roasts either (When they were actually hilarious, not just vulgar as they are today.)

I thing I regret is not having an interest when my dad tried to clue me in on the basics of car care and repair. I remember it as an unheated garage in a northern Indiana January night with a timing light. I would like to think that I would have a use for that knowledge now, but regret the loss experience

My grandfather had a box(es) of letters from C.W. On most of them he had doodled/drawn in his famous style. After one such evening when they didn't return home, grandma, fed up, burned the whole collection. My pop almost cries when he tells this story. Not only would these be highly collectable and be an amazing collection of family memorabilia, they'd probably pay for my kids/grandkids/great grandkids college!
Oh well, such is life. That's my tale. The disappearing letters.

Ah the tales of women and the distruction of some type of collection. I know may that lost comic books, baseball cards and all sorts of items to a woman that thought she knew better. Fung Shuei means all of the guys stuff goes in the garage.

I am not like that at all. Even when my first husband cheated on me, I packed up all his stuff nicely and had it delivered to his mother's house. Not one thing was destroyed.

Your situation is one where I could understand the wronged wife losing her self-control. I was in a similar situation and I definitely did some damage... But anything of value/use was mailed back to him. I'm not sure I would feel the same way if he was just carousing with his buddy, but hey, I've never been there.

Personally, I would sell it full price, keep the money, and go shopping.

You're right, it does make a great story Families are full of them. My grandmother once told me a whole history that sounded like a soap opera, only better. I was seriously after her to write a book!

Tell me about it.

A good friend from my college days told a story about his great-great grandfather, who had been one of the minor functionaries on Townsend Harris' diplomatic mission to Japan in the 1860s. The man developed an interest in tsuba -- pierce-work iron sword guards -- and collected hundreds of them. My friend developed an interest in Japanese swords as well, and went to visit his grandmother and asked about the GGGfather's trunk that was in the attic.

"Oh," said gramma. "All those old iron coasters? I threw them out."

There was a great gnashing of teeth. I still twitch when I think of this.
